Final assignment.

I decided to create a blog for my final project since my main interest in criticism would be in a written form. The idea for my blog comes from the moment right after you finish watching a movie. Those first very personal impressions that usually shape our viewing of the work.  Thus, I have decided to focus on only movies that I have sees on the cinema. This decision comes in an attempt to also push myself to acknowledge the film experience in a movie theater. When going to the cinema there is more to it than just the movie, there are a series of things that can shape your viewing experiences. Even things that are not part of the movie can affect how you experience it. 

I believe that one of the main things that would tie my reviews together is the level of intimacy on them. I will be talking on my subjecting experience and perception of the movie. With the principal aim to start a conversation or a debate on it.  So, in my reviews I tried to make very clear that it is my point of view. I tend not to focus to much of the object itself but rather to look at it in the bigger picture, but it can happen that my main impression are about the object. At no point I pretend to have the universal truth. In fact, maybe a little of provocation is present on my reviews so debates can be possible.

I am not sure I have managed to come up with a voice for myself but this first attempt encourages me to keep trying. But I know that my reviews are all very personal and they speak mainly about my time in the theater while I was sitting on the chair. I have found that this kinds of text can be find as very low or irrelevant. I want to show that our expereince of the art it is relevant and should be part of the conversation. So I delivery try to stay away from other references or very academic sources. In the end, it is the particular experience and what it does within us what I am interested in here.
